Africa
Many of our East Africa safari adventures spend time relaxing on the Indian Ocean beaches of Zanzibar. This exotic spice island can also be visited in its own right on our Zanzibar Revealed tour (daily departures) and can also be added to ANY of our Africa adventure holidays. Mozambique is known as a tropical beach paradise. You can snorkel and scuba-dive in the Indian Ocean waters amongst whale sharks, dolphins, sea turtles and manta rays on our adventure tours here. South Africa is renowned for its great beaches – particularly those around Cape Town. Many of our wildlife safaris start or end here so why not arrive early or extend your stay and enjoy the vast sandy expanses found here. All of our overland expeditions travelling from South to East Africa stop for a few days on the shores of Lake Malawi, the third largest and second deepest in Africa. It is home to more species of fish than any other lake in the world and a good place to partake in a range of optional activities such as snorkelling and diving.
The Galapagos
The highlight of any adventure holiday to South America, in the Galapagos you can enjoy cruising between the islands surrounded by blue-footed boobies, frigate birds, penguins, marine iguanas, fur seals, reef sharks and of course the giant Galapagos Tortoise! Swim with tropical fish, laze on the beaches with sea lions, snorkel from the boat with manta rays and then relax on the sundeck of your motor yacht. Surely the ultimate combination of wildlife and relaxation!
Costa Rica
With coasts on both the Caribbean and Pacific, Costa Rica is the gem of Central America offering coastal rainforests, sandy beaches and a wealth of wildlife in between. The beautiful beach town of Puerto Viejo offers a wide range of activities including hiking, mountain biking , kayaking , diving, and snorkelling. Discover the rich marine life of Cahuita National Park, renowned for its abundant wildlife and attractive unspoiled beaches, with long stretches of pristine white sand, coral reef and rainforest making it a haven for snorkelling and swimming.
Borneo
All our adventure holidays to Borneo start in Kota Kinabalu, a beach lover’s paradise with 4 miles of white, soft sand, fringed by casuarinas or aru trees. Laze on beach or, for the more energetic, perhaps hire out a canoe for a paddle on the pristine waters off the South China Sea. From here we head inland to the rainforest, packed full of fascinating wildlife such as proboscis and leaf monkeys, orang-utan, marbled cats and even elephants. We also visit Bako National Park, the oldest in Sarawak, a truly beautiful spot with a scenic coastline fringed by mangroves and clean, secluded beaches where we spend our time observing local flora and wildlife.
India, Nepal and Sr Lanka
Wildlife experiences and beach relaxation on one incredible adventure holiday. Ride elephants in Chitwan National Park in search of rhino in Nepal, cross the border into India and head south to the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary for both boat and walking safaris before chilling out at Varkala - a beautiful beach town on the Arabian Sea with a long, golden beach and backdrop of red laterite cliffs from which mineral water springs forth. It is also a town famous for Ayurvedic massage centres….
In Sri Lanka we take a jeep safari in Minneriya National Park which is home to elephants, leopards, macaques, sambar deer and many species of the birds and also visit the elephant sanctuary at Pinnawela. We then head to the south coast and its amazing beaches, small seaside villages and sweeping bays as well as the famous stilt fishermen.
