Cape Town Extension

Featured Tour:

Last, but most definitely not least, is the star attraction for most travellers to South Africa – Cape Town or the ‘Mother City’. Nestled at the foothills of the dramatic Table Mountain range with captivating views of the Atlantic Ocean, Cape Town truly is one of the world's most beautifully located cities. Its vibrant and cosmopolitan character emerges from its rich history which is evident in its city centre. Our city tour here takes in such historical sights such as the Castle of Good Hope, Grand Parade, the Slave Tree, the Parliament Buildings and District Six Museum on apartheid, Our hotel is situated a short walk from the bustling Victoria and Alfred Waterfront which boasts excellent restaurants, great shopping and a relaxed atmosphere.

The city is surrounded by an astounding variety of natural wonders. South is Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope. To the west is the isolated and windswept Robben Island, for many years home to the world's most famous political prisoner, Nelson Mandela. To the east are the noted wine growing regions of Paarl, Franschhoek, Robertson and Stellenbosch - the oldest and most famous wine region in South Africa and home to a unique variety of grape called pinotage. Our tours here visit some wineries to sample the enticing local produce - truly some of the best value wines you'll find anywhere! Further to the east lies the attractive resort of Hermanus which is the best place in the world to do land-based whale watching, with a 12km stretch of cliff paths hugging the coastline. It is particularly known for its exceptional sighting of Southern Right whales during certain times of the year. The whale-watching season begins in June (perfect for that England versus Algeria match!) and stretches right through to early December.

All this ensures that Cape Town is a great option at the beginning or end of any safari.
