Sri Lanka Reviews

Review 1

What was the most memorable part of your tour?

It was all memorable

Do you feel your holiday benefited local people?

I would like to think so. Our tour guide and driver were local people and most hotels were run by local people

Do you feel that you got under the skin of a country?

This is difficult to say. A tour like this is always a rush, with little time for really getting to know a place, but it was chosen to see as much in s short a time as possible, so it was a conscious choice

What advice would you give to other travellers?

This was the best tour I have taken of its kind and other than recommendeing the tour itself, I have no further recomendations

What was the most memorable part of your tour?

Do you know what, I remember so much of it, there's lots of points that stick in my mind, that's how good it was!

How would you rate the tour leaders?

Excellent, every question, even if it wasn't to do with the tour was answered - our tour leader had so much passion for the tour and the country it was totally infectious!

Do you feel your holiday benefited local people?

Always difficult to say really, I generally believe that by being there (and being conscious) is benefiting local people, but yes, the monies given and some of the activities we did proved how Imaginative Traveller had thought about what they were doing.

Do you feel that you got under the skin of a country?

Absolutely - it got under my skin too, truly beautiful and gem in the Indian Ocean, so many people only see the beaches, which to me, now, seems such a waste!

What advice would you give to other travellers?

If adventure and culture (mixed with a great climate) is what you're after, don't hesitate to book this now!

What was the most memorable part of your tour?

It is such a difficult decision, because it was all wonderful, but visiting the elephant orphanage was extraordinary

How would you rate the tour leaders?

Our tour leader was great for the majority of the tour. He found extra things for us to see and always gave us the option to do even more than the itinery. He was enthusiatic, knowledgeable and passionate about his country.

Do you feel your holiday benefited local people?

In a small way: we ate in local restaurants, shopped in local shops. And we continue telling everyone to visit Sri Lanka on holiday

Do you feel that you got under the skin of a country?

I feel that we really 'experienced' the country. We started to understand the culture, politics, education, beliefs and attitudes. I feel capable of giving an informed outsiders view of Sri Lanka.

What advice would you give to other travellers?

Go with an open mind and soak up every bit of it that you can. Eat in local places and learn that we can learn a huge amount from them.

Sri Lanka Forum Feedback

Visa

Hi In the Sri Lanka dossier it says that you need to get a single entry visa before your trip. In the list of countries supplied by the visa company you recommend it says that no visa is needed prior to travel as free one will be issued at Sri Lanka airport. Please advise Thank you Julie

Sri Lanka May 2009

I am booked on this tour and wanting to buy my airline tickets as this is part of three months of travel. When will I know if this trip is guaranteed to go? I have already made my flights into and out of Sri Lanka before I was told it was not guaranteed. Please advise on May 9th trip! Thank you.
