What Was The Most Memorable Or Exciting Part Of Your Holiday?

Snorkelling at the reef off Caye Caulker, but everything was good.

What Did You Think Of Your Tour Leader?

Good at the transport, transfers and tour arrangements.

What Advice Would You Give To Other Travellers?

ATMs can be very expensive, take US Dollars, change them to local currency at a bank, rather than paying with them, and change back if you can when you leave. There are alternatives to the tour leader suggestions, if you have the time and energy.

What Was The Most Memorable Or Exciting Part Of Your Holiday?

Many Highlights!!! Including the Mayan ruins at Tikkal. Volcano walk in Antigua and the excellent restaurants.

What Did You Think Of Your Tour Leader?

Good. Approachable, freindly and organised. Prehaps he could have had a little more knowledge/info.about bus services. As this tour was from Cancun to Antigua (In my case) and i had to then get bck to Cancun for my flight home, more detailed bus timetables would have been handy, rather than being left to the local travel agents, who often have a different agenda when trying to sell you tickets!

Do You Feel Your Holiday Benefited Local People?

Yes, especially using local travel guides and visiting local restaurants.

Do You Feel That You Got Under The Skin Of A Country?

Yes. Very much so!!!

What Advice Would You Give To Other Travellers?

Research thoroughly travel options if you intend to travel independantly before or after your trip. Its is very difficult to exchange any currency other than US dollars in Guatemala and Belize. So dont bring Sterling, Euros, AUS dollars etc.,

What Was The Most Memorable Or Exciting Part Of Your Holiday?

Guatemala – I loved it!

What Did You Think Of Your Tour Leader?

Great. Knew all the right stuff, very enthusiastic, even at stupid-o’clock in the morning!

What Advice Would You Give To Other Travellers?

Book with ImTrav! This was the second trip I’ve done with you and I’m planning another one later this year and recommending you to all my friends. It’s the lazy person’s way to travel ‘properly’ without lifting a finger in organising.

What Was The Most Memorable Or Exciting Part Of Your Holiday?

Sunset at tikal

What Did You Think Of Your Tour Leader?

some of the best I’ve ever had

Do You Feel That You Got Under The Skin Of A Country?

definitely

What Advice Would You Give To Other Travellers?

I was looking for a tour company that gave the right balance between a good holiday and some genuine travelling. In the past I’ve used companies that have been far too tourist orientated and have been left feeling dissapointed. I have also used rough and ready tour operaters where you find yourself sleeping in some real hell holes, drinking yourself into oblivion each night. Imaginative traveller had a good mix of travellers from a variety of countries which is always nice. They were also a good range of ages making sure that everyone found someone they had something in common with. With this company you can do as little or as much as you like with the group its up to you, but it is really chilled with a real backpackers feeling .

What Was The Most Memorable Or Exciting Part Of Your Holiday?

1. Tikal at sunset after a three day trek through the jungle. 2. Snorkelling over the barrier reef near Caye Caulker. 3. Standing on the edge of a lava flow on one of the volcanoes above Antigua.

What Did You Think Of Your Tour Leader?

Excellent. Able to pitch the tour to different people in the group to suit their different interests.

Do You Feel Your Holiday Benefited Local People?

I hope so.

Do You Feel That You Got Under The Skin Of A Country?

To some extent – but three countries in two weeks is a bit fast to really get well acquainted with each of them individually. However, the mix of adventure tourism, historical sites, beautiful scenery, colourful cultural locations, relaxed days on a beach and snorkelling over a reef gave a very good flavour of what the region has to offer.

What Advice Would You Give To Other Travellers?

*Good footwear for the jungle hike (particularly when it’s wet) and strong mosquito repellant are a must. *If you plan to go up to the lava flows on the volcano buy marshmallows in the supermarket around the corner from the hotel in Antigua and roast them on the sticks the villagers will lend you. *Watch a few episode of “The Mysterious Cities of Gold”” before leaving home to get yourself in the mood!”
