Hi,
I am planning to go on a 1-year worldtrip, starting with the Nile & Beyond Tour on April 25. Afterwards, I'll continue crossing Africa on my own until arriving in Capetown sometime in August. I haven't figured everything out yet in order to remain spontaneous but would like to avoid unpleasant surprises in terms of personal safety.
Has anyone recently done such a tour and can provide me with some tips? I am particularly interested in information about Etiopia. Can someone recommend accommodation in Addis Abeba? How safe is it to travel overland from Etiopia to Kenya these days?
And last but not least, if anyone's planning to travel in the region in the coming weeks, would you like to get in touch?
I look forward to hearing from you!
Martina

Re: From Cairo to Cape Town - tips on Etiopia?
Hi there...
I'm afraid I'm not much help personally, but I just finished reading Dark Star Safari by Paul Theroux. It's an intimate look at Theroux's journey from Cairo to Capetown and although the guy doesn't have the sunniest personality... he is very knowledgeable and descriptive about the places he visits. I definitely recommend picking it up before you go!
Have a great trip....

Hello Martina,
We do operate tours in Ethiopia and Keny. I suggest you have a look to get some ideas and have a good read of the trip and country dossiers. This will help with your planning.
