I am considering booking into the Ethiopia Explorer trip for September, and I wonder if anyone has any insight into this trip or the country in general. As well, the Canadian government travel advisory website has several warnings about regions of Ethiopia, but does not have an overall "don't go" so what is Imtrav's perspective on the safety/security of the country.
Thanks

Re: Ethiopia Explorer
Hello Brian,
Thanks for your post.
Whilst I am unable to comment on Ethiopia having not visited, I can re-assure you that Imaginative Traveller pay close attention to the advice issued by the FCO. This advice is central in our policy and should a country be deemed inappropriate for travel the necessary action will be taken by our Operations Department.
Whilst there are areas of Ethiopia to which travel is advised against, this has been the case for quite some time and our tours have been designed so as to avoid these.
However as I say, we keep a close eye on any developments and the appropriate action will be taken should this become necessary. Our policy surrounding the General Elections in Nepal earlier this year reflects how seriously we take the advice of the FCO.
All the best,
Robert
