I'm thinking of going on this trip and I have a few questions.
What time of year do people recommend?
Is Zimbabwe safe with present troubles?
Which way round is best (travel South or North?)
Thanks guys.

Re: Vic Falls/Cape Town - Questions
Hey Lorna and Soph,
Thanks for your post.
In terms of weather, the best time to embark on this tour would be September to April and the departure dates reflect this.
Victoria Falls has as yet avoided the troubles plaguing the rest of Zimbabwe and should there be any change in this situation, those going on the trip will be informed of any itinerary alterations ensued.
Really there is no best way round to do this tour. This depends on whether or not you intend to carry on travelling and where you need to be to do so.
Hope this helps.
Kind Regards,
Robert
Re: Vic Falls/Cape Town - Questions
Thanks - that really helps. Can I just ask about the transfer from the airport to Vic Falls. I notice there is no transfer included on this trip like I'm used to. This is the first time I will be travelling with you on my own and I'm a bit nervous.
Re: Vic Falls/Cape Town - Questions
Hey there,
Thanks for your post.
As you are aware, an arrival transfer is not included in the cost of our tours in Southern Africa, however these can be pre-booked at the same time as you book the tour. If you do this, make sure to keep your eyes peeled for our Representative holding a sign with your name on it. They usually will be waiting after the customs area for you. Depending on the time of your arrival, there may be loads of people milling around and if at first you cannot see our Representative do not panic, they will be there.
Should you not want to book an arrival transfer, then you should take a taxi to the meeting point hotel which will be clearly marked on your travel vouchers. There will be loads of taxis right outside the airport for you to get in, and before you do so, make sure you agree on the price. In Southern Africa there are private and shared Taxis, the latter of which may work out cheaper, but bear in mind that it will not depart until the driver has the car full.
I hope this has been useful and please do not hesitate in contacting me via the Traveller Forum or at online@imtrav.net.
Kindest Regards,
Robert
