hi, i see keith asked this question but couldnt see the answer - so apologies for repeating...
I am doing a safari in east africa in a week (a last minute thing) and am not currently in australia (home) so havent organised kenya and tanzania visa - will it be a problem when crossing from kenya to tanzania?
Also I have a sleeping sheet but not a sleeping bag - will that be sufficient in november? the trip info says either - i will get a sleeping bag if need be?
finally cash... with the large local payment + wanting to travel with US dollars for changing it will be a lot of notes - will the imtrav tour leader accept $50 notes or only $20
cheers

Re: visa question
Hi Jb,
Thanks for your post.
For most nationalities this is not a problem and you can get your visa at the border crossing between Kenya and Tanzania.
However, this can change occasionally so if you get the chance it is important to double check with a Tanzanian embassy before you arrive in Kenya.
It's also your responsibility to ensure that you arrive with the required visas for your tour but you shouldn't experience any problems if you are travelling next week.
The weather remains warm throughout the year in Kenya and Tanzania so a sleeping sheet should suffice but some travellers prefer a light sleeping bag so it's a matter of personal taste on this tour really. I personally would probably take a sleeping bag with me too then you have the luxury of both depending on local conditions.
The local payment just needs to be in USD cash so as long as you don't plan to pay in $1 bills any other denomination should be fine
I hope this helps. Have a nice trip.
