I am usually very adverse to going to zoo's as I do not think animals should be kept in cages. However, having been behind the scenes at London Zoo I have been introduced to the good work done by many zoos and am willing to support the good work.
As I am now unable to visit the Pandas at the reserve (although I note it is open again I don't think our trip will be changed back to the original schedule :-() I was contemplating going to Beijing Zoo to see the animals there. However, a few photos of the zoo (as a whole not just the Pandas) lead me to think that the animals are in big concrete cages with not much to do which means I will not go.
Has anyone been to Beijing zoo and if so how did the animal welfare appear to you?
