Hello!

Looking to do a China tour in June - Chinese Takeaway (18th) or China Insight (26th).

Has anyone been on either or is booked to go? the Insight tour is more expensive (Traveller tour) but includes 3 Gorges trip. Is this worth it? Not a particular fan of boats and 3 days seems a long time!

Also - would be going alone? Does this work out ok usually?!

Thanks!!

Sarah

Re: China in June

We did China Discovery- and the trip was brilliant, except the 3 gorges (soon becoming the 3 lakes), which I would gladly have skipped. Beijing, Xian, Yangshuo, and the Rice Terraces were all magnificent, but the river was dull.
All I would saw in its defence is that it you have to see it soon, cos like creme eggs they won't be there for ever, and it is interesting to see how they are going about moving everything. But all in all, dull.

Re: China in June

As for travelling alone, There are people travelling solo on most tours, and given the way the groups integrate it never seems to matter.
