I am very keen on going to China this year but being allergic to nuts, I have concerns over the food. I always carry translation cards which I show in restaurants etc. But is it worth the risk?
Are there any other nut allergy sufferers out there who have had experience of travel in China, or are there any travellers who had a sufferer within their group?

Thanks for your post.
As with all Imaginative Traveller tour, it is important for anybody with food allergies or preferences to make them known to the Tour Leader who will endeavour to meet your requirements.
People with nut allergies should be aware that a lot of food is cooked in nut oil and avoiding this will be particularly difficult. The choice of dishes may be incredibly restricted and it would be extremely hard to guarantee a complete nut avoidance.
Unfortunately we can not give any guarantee that special requirements can always be met.
Really T it is up to you and the severity of you aversion. It would certainly be worth considering the extent to which it would hinder your enjoyment of the country. The translation cards are an excellent idea though and if you are confident in the food resulting from their being shown, then go for it! Peace of mind goes a long way.
