Has anyone travelled to China in July/August and if so was it really hot and did you manage to travel without problems? I have heard stories of certain sections of China (mostly southern) being considered a furnace during the summer months.

Re: China in summer
My sister & her family lived there for a few years and I visited in August. Yes, that is the peak of summer but if you're sensible, it won't be a problem. Drink plenty of water and carry some wet wipes to cool your skin. Oh, and don't forget the SPF30+ sunscreen
We tended to do things in the early morning and the place is always abuzz in the evenings. Middle of the day is great for museums and such.
Re: China in summer
It's a vast country, so the climate varies, but most of the country will be hot and very humid. In Beijing, hotels and major shops have air conditioning; a welcome retreat!

Hi Cwuerch,
I think the others have answered this one for me
Yes it can be very hot and humid in the South and Central parts but I think a 'furnace' is a bit of an exaggeration
