Its a very difficult choice, deciding which tour to recommend in China as it depends on how much time you have and what your budget is. The China Explored is a great introduction to China - it takes in the main sights in two weeks and comes under our adventurer category (ie designed for those on a budget).
My personal favourite is probably the Beyond the Clouds tour - it takes you through some of the most beautiful scenery in China and through some lovely small towns and villages. It also includes a few days in Tibet, which is absolutely awesome. If you just have two weeks, you could do the Gateway to the SouthWest trip, which is the first two weeks of Beyond the Clouds.

I went on the Road to Shanghai trip earlier this year in June and I can highly recommend it. I wish I had done the further week (great china adventure). China is a brilliant place to visit and is certainly a challenge. Aspects of the tour which were particularly good for me where 1.the great wall at jinshangling, which you have to walk up to but very definately worth it. 2. Tiannemen square and the forbidden city, amazing to walk in a place I have seen so many times on the television. 3./ the farm stay - I enjoyed it so much. the people were very hospitable and it showed another side to china.4./ Xi'an - the mosque is surreal, full of pagodas and the muslim markets are great. Have muslim barbeque if you go it is really nice.
All in all it was the most amazing place. I went in June and I still talk about it all the time. The tour leaders were great Simon and Graeme ( graeme was learning the ropes)
I think that what ever trip you go on it will be amazing. I have heard from another member of my group about the tuors she had went on in China preceeding that on and she loved them all.
