I'm booked on the tour above and I've got one (so far?) question conserning sleeping bags requirements on this tour. On pre-departure data was stated that a bag up to -20 celsius is required? How ever we are supposed to accomodate in tea houses

I am also booked on the EBC on OCT 30th..did it today actually..Are you planning to bring a sleeping bag or get one in nepal? since i'll be travelling before and after i really dont want to bring a sleeping bag from canada!!! they say you can rent one...-5 C is recommended..but not sure if it is enough...

Hi, I did the Dehli / Kathmandu trip in April and from Kathmandu after the tour finished we rented sleeping bags and did a trek to Annapurna Base Camp. We hired our sleeping bags (although had our own liners)which was fine - there are loads of places to rent from, but some charge a lot more than others so shop around - the only problem was that the sleeping bag wasnt perhaps as 'clean' as Id have liked. I know you have to expect to 'rough it' a bit, but once I got into the sleeping bag I was so busy sneezing and rubbing my itchy eyes I didnt get much sleep. If I went again, and only for that type of trip (ie not a beach holiday the fortnight preceeding and european hotel holiday afterwards) I would have made the effort and carried my own. BElieve me, when you are treking every day some home, western style comforts & cleanlines standards are necessary.
