In the past years, have one of those two trips been cancelled, in Oct/Nov, for lack of minimum people (4) being reached? I had my travel agent check for the date of 13-oct for Delhi to Kathmandu and 26-oct for Nepal Panorama and current there is no bookings. I am trying to find out the odds of the trip not happening before I book.

Also, for the Delhi to Kathmandu, 3 heritage hotels are used, one is The City Palace in Karauli, what and where are the other two?

I would also like to hear from anyone that has done these two trips or is thinking of joining on the two dates specified above.

Thanks,
Carole

Re: Delhi to Kathmandu & Nepal Panorama

Hi Carole,

The departure dates that you are looking at are still quite a way off and in general we would expect only very few bookings on those trips at this time. We would expect the bulk of the bookings to start coming in over the next few months. Also, the Delhi to Kathmandu and the Nepal Panorama are two of our most popular trips and they do generally fill up nicely.

It is obviously impossible for me to give any guarantee at this stage as to whether these trips are going to go ahead but I would certainly be hopeful that other bookings will come in.

So my advice is book ! They are both fantastic trips and you will certainly enjoy them immensely.

There are actually only two different heritage hotels on the Delhi to Kathmandu trip, as the group will spend two nights in Karauli.

Day 2 in Shekhavati spends the night in the other heritage hotel. It is a stunning place in the middle of the desert and you can sit on the battlements enjoying a drink as the sun goes down over the desert ! Every room is different - when I stayed there I had one of the old Maharaja's principle guest rooms and there was lovely old furniture and old pictures throughout.

The following day (day 3) also has interesting accommodation - you stay in mud huts. But they are the most luxurious mud huts I have seen ! Beautifully decorated both inside and out with rich fabrics and colours. It isn't a heritage hotel but it is certainly a highlight.

Have a fantastic time !

Regards,
