We are considering doing an Indian tour, possibly the rajasthan safari later this year and i was wondering if there are any people on this forum who have done this tour and can give some advice.
Did you find it good value? Are there any tips anyone could give us.
Is there anyone else planning on doing one of the Indian tours this year?

Re: INDIAN TOURS
I'm going of on the North Indian Highlights, which departs next Sunday. I'd be happy to give feedback on return. To date we have found Imaginative Traveller to be good value in comparison to other companies. In addition we are travelling independently to southern India for a week, and I'll tell you about that too.
In the meantime, we start malaria treatment on Saturday!
Re: INDIAN TOURS
I have just returned from Rajasthan Safari and can recommend it as an excellent tour - you get a balanced view of old and new India, rural and city life.
If you go in the cooler months, take a sleeping bag as it is cold in the desert tents and trains.
Malaria drugs are not required in the dry cooler months but do get all your shots including rabies as you will see lots of wild dogs and monkeys.
Re: INDIAN TOURS
superb value tour a real meet the people holiday-camels not comfy for me but would not have missed the experience
camel fair is great too if you are able to go and dont miss the big cinema experience -in Jodphur (I think) the overnight train trip is another goodie esecially if you travel basic -the army were on board when we went and they took the 'better' quarters-so we travelled as we prefer-with the locals
enjoy Devwali too buy candles and sweets-make friends and visit - we are complete India-holics (this was our 2nd trip) hope to return
