Im due to fly out to Delhi on Saturday morning to go on the North Indian Highlights tour. Any word on how the VAT strike is affecting tourists? its been a couple of days now and am concerned that i will not be able to part with my cash in shops quite as effectively as id like.

The strike appears to be schedule to last for three days. It appears to mainly have hit the wholesale trade.
However as to it's implications this is uncertain and I have contacted our India Office as to the long and lasting effects of the situation.

The india office said it has had absolutly no impact on any of the tours what so ever and has only resulted in the odd closure.
