Hi,

I'm planning a trip to India, and I'm particularly interested in the Rajasthan explorer tour. But I have some questions that I hope someone can answer for me:

When going to the Amber fort, will we have the chance to ride elephants?

How much approximately would the optional overnight camel safari cost?

I booked a trip with ImTrav recently and understand that a 5% discount operates for any future tours I book. Will this be in addition to the possible 10% discount that I could get if I book before 31 January (as part of your special promotion for the new 2005/6 brochure)?

Has anyone been on a trip similar to this one (I understand this is a new tour). If so, I'd be grateful for any feedback/advice!

Thanks very much. [Smile]

Re: Rajasthan Explorer

Sorry, just realised that Rajasthan Explorer in fact isn't a new tour! In that case, if anyone has been on this particular tour, I'd love to hear your comments on it! Thanks again.

Re: Rajasthan Explorer

Hi Katie

If I remember the optional camel safari was around $15 us. That was back in 2001 but I'm sure it hasn't changed much. It is great value too as it includes and excellent dinner eaten by a fire under the stars plus the tents are awesome and the camel ride so much fun.

You will get a chance to ride the elephants up to Amber fort for not much cost at all and a small tip to the elephant of course!!

Cheers Mitnak

Thank you Mitnak and Brendan. [Smile]

I have another random question - would there be enough time on this trip to do clothes shopping at markets or shops etc.? I need to buy a couple of indian trouser suits for an Indian wedding that I'm going to next year, and was hoping I'd be able to find some bargains in India!

Re: Rajasthan Explorer

Hi Katie
I did the Rajasthan Explorer and Forts and Palaces November 2004. The camel safari is a must do - we had a 2 night one and the very best memory I have is of the awesome silence of the night, next best - dancing by firelight with the locals. Imag does a fantastic job of the organisation for the whole trip - and there is plenty of time for shopping!! I am off shortly to do the Southern India adventure 11 December and can't wait. I did get the 5% discount for the second trip no problem. Enjoy the elephant ride - the view of the fort from the top of the elephant is fabulous!!
