The flight home at the end of our tour has been cancelled, but the airline has sweetly provided us with alternative seats on a plane that leaves a few days later. This gives us three and a half free days to kill at the end of our Beijing to Kathmandu tour.
I would be very grateful for suggestions on how we could spend those 3 days.
Factors to consider are:
- the guide books recommend that, owing to bad air pollution, we hang around in Kathmandu only if we have lungs of steel or are too ill to move
- we may be weighed down a tad with souvenirs
- our flight leaves late in the evening (11:30pm) on day four.
Thanks in advance,
Chrissy
PS: Is anyone else in a similar situation?

Re: Suggestions for 3 days after Kathmandu
There is a lot to do and see in and around Kathmandu. You might be lucky with the Disain festival for the Hindu Gods which is often in October. The various little temples and monastries in the Kathmandu valley are worth exploring. If you want to go a little further a field - you could go via a short tour - if so - try Llantang Trekking in Thamel (i think). The owner, Dipak is a good personal friend and their prices are very reasonable.
