Hello,

I just signed up for the Tibetan Odissey starting on 30sep.

I have two questions :

1) The minimum of participant for this tour is 6. Do you know how long in advance you decide if the tour is cancelled if we are not this minimum ?

2) For further questions regarding payment/transfert do I have still to contact you or I can contact the travel agency reference in Switzerland ? Do you have their contact ?

Thanks in advance and really looking forward for this trip !

Olivia

Re: Tibet

Hi Olivia,

Thanks for your questions.

With regards to minimum numbers the decision is virtually always taken whether or not to operate a tour no later than 56 days before departure (we pay additional compensation if we cancel within this period so it's very rare). Often it will be a little sooner than that if nobody else has booked but we do try to cancel as few as possible!

We work on the principle that all clients should stick to one booking consultant or company. This keeps things simple, avoids unnecessary mistakes with bookings and maximises the customer service in our opinion.

The answer therefore is that if you have booked with our Swiss agent then it is with them that you should discuss payment and arranging an airport transfer and if you've booked directly with us you can talk to us directly about these arrangements. Like I say, this is for your benefit so that all the records of your booking are up to date!

I hope this helps. Thanks for your booking [Smile]

Regards,
Brendan

Re: Tibet

by the way, am I the only one registered on this tour for the moment or are there some other people booked ?
Also I will do the Chinese visa only by mid-August, is that a problem for you as apparently you need this visa to apply for the Tibet permis.

Thanks !
Olivia

Re: Tibet

Hi Olivia,

Thanks for your questions.

You are not the only one booked on your tour so far but we have not yet achieved minimum numbers. There's still plenty of time for more people to book though.

We just ask you to send us a scan of your passport and Chinese visa as soon as you have it and no later than a month before departure (let us know if it causes any problems) so mid-August will be fine.

I hope this helps.

Regards,
Brendan

Re: Tibet

Dear Brendan,

I received this email today :

REF083877 Burnand/Olivia Mrs
30Sep07 13 TOR Tibetan Odyssey

Please provide for me asap a clear passport copy and a clear copy of the chinese visa in the passport

This was sent by Philippa Margerum to my agent .

As explained earlier in the post I will be on holiday the first two weeks of August(I leave next Sunday) and I can then only start the visa process on 13th August when I return. I will then have the visa ready by 20th August.

Can you please check if this is OK ? Otherwise I will have a little problem as one week is really too short to have visa as I have to send passport by post to another city.

Thanks to let me know as I start to worry...

Olivia

Re: Tibet

Hi Olivia,

Cela ne devrait pas etre une probleme...

Sorry, I thought I would practice my french with you [Smile] I have spoken to our international department and they have advised that this should not be a problem and they have made a note in your booking that you plan to send this information around the 20th August.

Have a nice trip next week.

Regards,
Brendan
