I understand that the Imaginative Traveller operates a tipping kitty for the tour and that all makes sense but what about tipping the tour leader? I'm going on one of your China tours later in the year (I haven't travelled with the Imaginative Traveller before) and was wondering how much of a tip I should leave the tour leader if at all?? Any ideas would be welcome thanks.
Tina.

Re: Tipping
Hi Tina,
Thanks for your question.
Tipping the tour leader is entirely up to you. On the tours that I have taken myself the group has always left a little tip for the tour leader and I believe it's a nice way to show your appreciation to him or her at the end of your trip; there's no obligation to do so though.
On my last tour everybody in my group of 11 left approx.
Re: Tipping
On our tour in Egypt we did a collection for the tour leader and everyone put their money in an envelope to give to him as a group. The amounts varied quite a bit from a smallish donation to quite large ones. I think it depended on what cash people had got left at the end of the holiday and obviously how good the tour leader had been.
I wanted to leave a good tip as I felt our leader had been excellent and really made the holiday (he was also extremely good looking, which may have influenced my tip
!! )
I'm sure you will be able to decide what to give when the time comes around.
Have a good holiday.
