Anyone else booked in on this tour?

I'm an Aussie chick heading on this one solo after 2-3 weeks in Borneo on another tour with a friend... can't wait!

Hi Clem,

Thanks for your question.

Nobody else has yet booked on this date but fear not, this tour is very popular (probably the most popular tour we run in SE Asia) and there is still loads of time for more people to join between now and mid-August.

I hope this helps.

Regards,
Brendan

Hi Brendan,

Thanks for your reply - hopefully a few more join up soon!

Just a couple of questions on what to take... am looking at a 65L wheeled pack with detachable daypack, plus a standard (carry on size) backpack. Does this sound ok or too much?

Also, will I need to bring a sleeping bag or will a sleeping sheet be enough?

Cheers,
Clem

Hi Clem,

Our advice regarding luggage is keep it as small as possible and choose luggage that you are comfortable carryign first and foremost. It should also have soft-sides for the overnight train ride/bus journeys.

You won't be carrying your luggage too often but you'll be on the move throughout the 2 weeks so luggage that can be easily packed and unpacked is also a bonus.

A soft-sided bag with wheels should be fine and it's usually a toss up between one of these or a decent rucksack. I tend to go with the wheeled bag but a rucksack is equally effective, especially when there is no hard ground to wheel the luggage along!

A sleeping sheet is all that you need to bring with you on this tour and a sleeping bag is not required.

I hope this helps.

Regards,
Brendan
