I just finished the Deserts and Kasbahs tour on Sat 20th May. The tour was fantastic, but I recommend you take a general antibiotic with you to ward off any bugs. A few of us were a bit sick for a few days, and I wished I'd taken an antibiotic with me. Our tour leader was fantastic though, and got me to a pharmacy asap.

when you say you got ill was it a tummy bug and upset stomach?

Antibiotics are only effective when you take the correct ones...

When you are over there, you can pick up something that will work on the tummy bugs that you pick up in egypt. I can't remember the name of it (I think it's somewhere on the forum - maybe do a search) or your tour guide will definitely be able to help.
As the last point of call, take some immodium which you should be able to get at most western chemists (well, that's only talking for UK and Australia). You don't need a prescription for either of them.

A guy on the tour took a general antibiotic and he seemed to cruise through a bit better. It was mostly just nausea and a bit of diarrhoea, and I can't stress enough it did NOT detract from my enjoyment of the trip. I was a complete guts and ate way too many tangines on the days beforehand anyway, so I really have myself (partly) to blame. You can buy antibiotics over the counter in Morocco, and your tour leader will help.

Thank you! I'm not too fussed really, am very excited about going and will pack a medical kit. I've been to Egypt too so know what tummy bugs might happen. I'll go well prepared!
