Hi
I am going on the Empire of the Sun Tour on the 18th August just wondering who else is going and where they are from.

if you have done this tour previous all advice welcome.

Hi Joanne,

I haven't been on the tour (more's the pity) but I have been to Tokyo and stayed in the departure hotel that we use. All I would say is follow the instructions in the Japan country dossier and you'll find the hotel without any problems. It's just a matter of taking the train from the airport to Ueno station and then it's just 2 stops down the line to Tawaramachi station, from where the hotel is less than 2 minutes away on foot. From Tawaramachi you can get to practically anywhere using the excellent subway system, which annonces each stop in English too!

Hi, I went on this tour in July 2005. It was brilliant - you will have a great time. My tour group were really good.

I would say that Takayama and Myajima were the highlights for me. Although climbing Fuji was some acheivement !!
