We would like to connect with other travellers who are also booked to go on this tour. We will be arriving in Cairo two days prior to start of tour.
During that time, we are planning to visit Memphis and Saqqara. It would be nice if there were others who would want to do same.
Looking forward to hear from all tour members, and those of you who would want to visit Saqqara during that time!
Fond regards,
Marta and Harold,

Hello Harold,
It's fairly simple to organise a side trip to Saqqara & Memphis. Your tour leader will be able to organise a taxi to take you, who will then wait & return you back to your Hotel. If you're going with a number of people you can share the cost between you. If you are trying to do this before your tour starts than you can ask at the Hotel reception & they can organise it for you.
When you go to Saqqara, you can go through the recently completed Museum (2005, I think) before you go to the Saqqara Pyramid.
I would also suggest the Pyramids at Dashur & Meidum. I love going to Dashur as it is so much quieter than the other tourist sites, no vendors selling their items!! This is the same out at Meidum, no vendors & pretty much silent!!
Hope you have a wonderful holiday. Kindest regards...........Debbie

Dear Debbie,
Thanks for your great advise. I read your passionate notes allover this Egypt Travellers Forum. It is so nice of you for sharing your knowledge and experience with us, who are going only the first time to Egypt. You making us even more exited about this tour.
Than you again.

Re: Jewels of Egypt (JOE) - Dep.Sept. 30, 2007
Hello Marta & Harold,
You are both very welcome!! I can remember my first trip to Egypt too!! I can remember how an elderly close friend begged me NOT to go.........he was terrified that I would be killed in Egypt!!! So many of my friends all have this thing about it not being safe.....but it IS. You just have to use some common sense, dress sensibly.....& pack your sense of humour & an open mind & heart!!
Egypt is such an amazing country!! But as Im stuck on the other side of the world, most of the time the only way I can get my "Egypt fix", is by sharing my stories here!!! And boring everyone silly in the process!!!!
If you would like to see some of the pics I have taken there, please go to www.picasaweb.google.com.au/tiawarra you will find more than 600 of my pics there.....enjoy!!!
I hope you have a wonderful holiday. I am always looking forward to my next visit to Egypt, although due to knee surgery, my next visit may be quite awhile off......was hoping it would happen in November, but this may not be possible now.
If I can help in any way, please drop me a line or 2. Kindest regards..........Debbie
