Road to Shanghai - 20 Sept
Hi
I'm booked to go on this trip - just over two weeks to go and I'm quite excited about it. When do you get in to Beijing - I get in on the Sunday morning.
Cheers

Hi,
I arrive on the Sunday morning as well, coming from London, think flight from Amsterdam lands about 9.30am. Haven't arranged for the pick up so will be getting a cab to the hotel. Maybe we could try to meet up and see some sites during the day. Definitely need to start reading the guide book.
See you in a couple of weeks.

My flight arrives into Beijing about 9.30am on the 20th. As the tour won’t begin until around 6pm does ImTrav have any suggestions for things to do during the day before meeting up with the tour leader?

Hey sclovie,
On the trip you will go to the forbidden cuty, Tiananmen Square and the Great wall so here are some other suggestions.
You could visit the Summer palace, The Temple of Heaven, watch a Peking opera or watch an acrobats show.
You can find out about tickets through the reception of the hotel or at a tourist information office.
I hope that this helps.

Meeting up
Hi Sarah
My flight gets in at 9.30am as well - I've got a transfer organised, so perhaps we just meet up at the hotel. Have no idea how long it'll take to get through immigration and actually get there - if you want, we could meet in the hotel reception/foyer around 11/11.30am...Must also get on to reading the guide book!!!
See you in 11 days time!!

Guessing meeting at 11.30/12 is prob better in case it takes a while to get out of the airport. My Chinese colleague is giving me instructions on how to get the tube to the hotel, apparently there is a station opposite the hotel. But if I can't figure that out will be taking a cab, which sounds a lot easier.

My email is sclovie@hotmail.com if it is easier to communicate that way.
Where are you flying in from? Really going to have to start sorting out what to take over the weekend.
See you in Beijing.
