Have our tickets paid for, travellers cheques on the desk and visas sent for. It is all coming together. Now if I could only find shoes. We are leaving May 7th and wonder if anyone else on line is coming with us. Jerry and I will probably be the oldest couple on the tour but as long as I get to walk on the Great Wall, I don't care. Looking forward to seeing new places, meeting new people and eating strange food (but not too strange).
Take care,
Theresa

Re: Yangste and Southwest
Hi Theresa,
I'm afraid shoes are not my speciality so I might not be too much help with those... If you need any information about what footwear to take with you please let me know
Regards,
Brendan
Re: Yangste and Southwest
Hi Theresa,
I'm also booked on your tour and really look forward to it.
I'm 36 and a native italian, but since 10 years I live and work in Munich/Germany (thus my english is not perfect). As a passionate hobby-photographer I hope to get some good shots during our trip to the most beautiful regions of China.
I'll arrive in HKG on saturday May 5th and stay in our departure-Hotel. If you are already there we may have a chance to meet beforehand.
Regarding the shoes I would suggest you to take comfortable training shoes and nothing special. In my last trip I did with Imaginative Traveller (Sri Lanka) one girl brought heavy mountain shoes with her and she had to carry them all the time, but they weren't necessary at all (we did some walks in the mountains, but everything was very easy). Just keep in mind that the stones on the Great Wall could probably be a little bit slippery, at least with wet weather.
See you in Hong Kong,
Manfred
Re: Yangste and Southwest
Hi Theresa and TravelMaster,
There are some challenging sections on the Great Wall due to deterioation of the wall and steep sections (there's lots of up and down) but you should be fine with a good pair of trainers, regardless of the weather.
If either of you have any questions about Hong Kong or China please let me know as I have just returned from a similar tour myself.
Regards,
Brendan
