Question for Jim or anyone that can give some advice. We are on the Pharaoh's Tracks tour starting January 5 (38 days and counting) and obviously we want to see Abu Simbel when in Aswan. Should we wait & see what others in the group want to do, or do we need to decide between bus or flying in advance? Will it be too late to arrange either once we get to Cairo, or should it be arranged before we leave? All advice will be much appreciated. Cheers - Wayne

Abu Simbel is an amazing sight, and should definitely not be missed! If you decide on flying, then it's best to book that with us before you leave. Although it can sometimes be arranged when you arrive, availability of seats on the plane will be more restricted, the closer you are to the date of departure. The cost of this is

Got back from the PT tour and loved every minute (so much so that I am planning to go back in January to live in Luxor for a while). You will have a great time!
Everybody on our tour wanted to go to Abu Simbel by bus. Unless you really can't stand three hours on a bus, I'd wait and see what the rest of the group are doing. By the time you get to Aswan you will (hopefully) have made some good friends.
