Hello,
My sister and I are planning on travelling Egypt via Pharoah's Tracks, is there any way to add Abydos to the trip? We are both interested in the Old Kingdom and the trip we chose is the only one that seems to include most of that era's important sites.

I am doing the same tour but I have to wait until January (only 25 weeks to go!). I was hoping to visit Abydos as well but it seems there is not sufficient time on the PT tour. I have posted below information suplied to me by Mohammed of Imtrav.
"To visit Abydos and Dendara, you will need to join a convoy from Luxor that leaves every morning at 8:00 am , the convoy gets back to Luxor about 1:00pm."

Me and my friend are on the PT tour in October and also want to visit Abydos. We have come to the conclusion that the best way to do this is to stay in Luxor when the tour heads back to Cairo as we have extra days in Egypt. This will mean that we lose our overnight sleeper ticket back to Cairo and have to book extra nights in a hotel in Luxor but we think it's worth it, after all, Egypt is a once in a life-time holiday!
