Hi,
Can anyone give feedback on the accomodations (hotel, train and cruise) for the Jewels of Egypt or Nile Safari tours? Travelling with my wife, and while we don't need 5-Star, squeeky clean and comfortable are important factors. Worth the extra cost to try an upgrade at any or all points?

I don't know which Hotel you will be your starting point the Nile Safari tour, but for the Jewel's of Egypt you start from the Salma Hotel in Dokki/Mohandeseen. The Salma isn't 5 star but has good showers, working toilets![[Smile]](smile.gif)
& clean linen ...what more can you ask? ;0. They have a very efficient laundry service & the staff are friendly & helpful.
The Hotel that we stayed at in Alexandria was lovely, overlooking the sea. In Aswan we stayed at the Cleopatra, which had been renovated since my last visit in March '99, & is very nice with fresh paint etc. In Luxor we spent a night in the Phillipe, whilst certainly a comfortable Hotel it can be noisy.
In Hurghada we stayed at the Three Corners Hotel which was very nice & had a pool etc. At St Katherine we stayed at Morgenland which was clean & fresh.
Onboard Amy is a treat that shouldn't be missed.
So in all the rooms were clean, presentable & comfortable.
