I also did one of the Egypt tours last summer (Nile & Sinai), and had the time of my life! I was the oldest person, which included the tour leader and I'm 31.

The majority is always in the 20's with the odd younger person (teens) and the odd older person (40 plus).

Have a great time!!

Re: Age range on Egypt tours

Hello Portsoft,

I did the Nile Safari tour almost 3 years ago. The ages ranged from early 20's to 70's. At times the 70 yo's were the life of the party. The average age I would guess was 30/40. I was then 40 & had wanted to visit Egypt for most of my life...I finally got there!!!

Don't worry about age as it isn't an important issue, you will be with people with a similar interest....Egypt. Focus an having the holiday of a lifetime, one you will never forget. Go knowing that your Tour Leaders are well trained & always helpful. The tours are very well organised & the guides very informative.

Wish I could be with you. It took me 40 years to be able to do the first trip & I think it may take that long before I can return. Have a lemon juice for me.

TRACY - I am so sorry, I did not intend to offend anyone!! I know 40 is not old, that wasn't the point of my statement, which I'll admit was a silly one now that I've re-read it! My sincere apologies.

Re: Age range on Egypt tours

That's okay, I was just joking...As my 40th birthday is coming up shortly, I now realize that 40 isn't so old after all!! But Debbie is right, age does not make a difference...When you travel, everyone is the same age at heart!! The people in their 70's on the tour that we took were definately the most energetic!! And we sure met alot of great people that we still keep in contact with...We do alot of independent travel, but would really like to take another Imaginative Traveller Tour in the near future..They were very well organized. It is kind of nice to travel with a group, had a great time!!

My husband and I are leaving for the Egypt Pharoahs Tracks tour next Saturday 2 Feb. We are 48 and 47 respectivly. After just spending a week with our 4 year old granddaughter, 40 can be old. One 4 year old can take out two 40 year olds any time!

Hello Nicholas,

Thank you for taking the time to say that. I enjoy my visits to the forums, it's my way of keeping in touch with Egypt....yes I've still got the travel bug.

I hope you enjoy your tour & wish I could join you.

Re: Age range on Egypt tours

Debbie and all,
I am 46 and found that I was the first one to swim in the Nile and the only one to swim in the freezing pool at St Catherine's in Sinai until I convinced a young Irish guy named Allen that he needed to do it too.

Debbie is surely right that age is no barrier, and a wonderful lady of 61 was in better shape than me going up Mt. Sinai.

Egypt is so great, I never get tired looking at the pics of the Imtrav trip my wife and I took in December of 2001.

Imtrav makes it easy to tour Egypt - going on our own would have been much more difficult and less informative. It's a wonderful adventure!

Re: Age range on Egypt tours

Hi,
I'll vouch for that - Yes, Ed was in the sub-zero pool at mt. sinai and I have the photos to prove it (magnun!).

And I shared a room with our lovely 61yo companion who every now and then would have a rude joke which would far 'out-do' ours!

Was just reading the comments on Egypt trips, reminescing, while looking at next I.T trip options...
