Hello,
Can anybody give me some advice on air travel?
For those of you who have travelled from Australia to Egypt, is it better to get a direct flight or a connecting flight from Australia to a larger country then to Egypt?
Also, can you recommend a good airline?
I would like advice from travellers before I contact the different agents for quotes.
Thanks,
Nic.

Re: Air Travel - Australia to Egypt
Hi Nicole
We travelled from Australia to Egypt via Egyptair. The flight is direct, with a short stop in Singapore to take on passengers.
Other people on our tour flew with Emirates and had a stopover in Dubai, which they said was fantastic. I believe Olympicair is another option or Singapore Airlines. We wanted the most direct flight at the time and chose Egyptair for that reason. We also had a flight from Cairo to Athens included in our fare, so had a week in the Greek Islands to finish of our holiday nicely.
I must say that on our way back, we flew from Santorini to Athens and then to Cairo and had a 6 hour stopover in Cairo airport at 10pm at night. Egyptair gathered us all up and took us to the 5 star Movenpick Hotel and gave us a food voucher and a room.
No matter who you go with, it's a long flight !
Have a wonderful trip.
Cheers
Jo.
Re: Air Travel - Australia to Egypt
Hi,
I'm flying to Egypt from Sydney in Oct,and got a fantastic deal with Singapore airlines including a flight to London from Cairo and then a direct flight back to Sydney from London. I have a one hour stop in Singapore on the way and another hour in Dubai, so it's still a fairly direct flight!!
I can recommend a brilliant travel agent if you'd like...
