Hi,

I'm looking into booking my flight from London at the moment and the one I want to book lands in Cairo at 3:30am. I was wondering, I'm booked on the JOE trip and am staying a few days extra at the motel, my question is, do I get picked up from the airport or do I have to make my way there?

Cheers,
K8T

Re: Airport Arrival

Hello K8T_C,

As far as I know Im Trav still offer their "meet & greet", for all tours in Egypt. You just need to send your flight details a month in advance. Like yourself, I would hate the long haul flight from Oz & then have to find my own way to the Hotel in Cairo.

It is Sooooooooooo nice to see the little "Imaginative Traveller" sign being held up by a Rep & knowing that someone will take you through customs, help collect your luggage, take you out to the waiting van & drive you to your Hotel. It is such a wonderful welcome.

Anyway, I hope all this is still relevant & that you have a wonderful holiday, as always, I wish I were going too!

All the best............Debbie

Re: Airport Arrival

Thanks Debbie, your post has put my mind at ease. I'll now just have to book the flights and away I go! I can't wait to get into Egypt now, only 11 weeks and I'm there! It's so exciting, yet there is still... so much I have yet to do.

Thanks again!

Re: Airport Arrival

The only thing is, I feel so sorry for the poor person who has to wake up to come and get me. But it is just such a lovely service, especially because it means I get an extra day in Cairo!

Oh Don't K8T!!!

Once you have been in Cairo for a few days, you will realise that Cairo rarely sleeps!! People are often up & about at the oddest times!!

Most of the Reps seem to be pretty used to these odd flight times. And besides....it's YOUR holiday!! You go & enjoy it & I'll bet you a glass of lemon juice the Rep will be as bright as a button!!

Have a wonderful time............Debbie

Re: Airport Arrival

Hello,

After having arrived in Cairo, 5 hours later than our scheduled arrival time, we were delighted to see the ImTrav rep -- yes, he had been waiting the whole 5 hours and it was very late -- the wee hours of the morning.

He then led us to where we could get our money exchanged and I also believe a Visa -- it was a blur as we had been travelling from Canada via Europe and hadn't slept for many, many, hours.

We were very blessed and thankful to ImTrav and found out that he wasn't even our travel director but just hired to meet us!

Wow, that's so wonderful to hear stories like that. It just goes to show what a great company ImTrav is.

I wish I had heard about this group earlier than I did otherwise I probably would of chosen a few more trips with them!

At the moment I'm hoping that 2010 will include a trip to South America with ImTrav and I can't wait!!!

Thank you again for the advice and stories. It's great to hear.

Re: Airport Arrival

I have one last question, I won't be booking my flight with my travel agent (found a better price online), so how do I go about getting in contact with ImTrav with my flight details? Would it be best to email, phone or get my travel agent to contact them (though that would be slightly uncomfortable to ask)?

Thanks again, I must say, ImTrav's forums are one of the best. People are so lovely and prompt at answering any questions. It's fantastic!

Re: Airport Arrival

I bought our tickets online, and let the travel agent we were dealing with at Trek Escapes know (the travel place that ImTrav uses in Canada). He just had me email him the details, nice and easy!

Re: Airport Arrival

If you click on "ImTrav Kate's" contact icon, you can send her a private message with your information & I'm sure Kate will pass it on.....hope that's OK Kate!!

I can understand you might feel a tad uncomfortable about asking your travel agent to do this for you.

By the way, you are gonna LOVE the JOE tour.........it's just wonderful!! All the best..........Debbie
