Recently booked to do the Nubian sailtrek followed by the Siwi Oasis trip. Looking forward to all of it but............. there's a bycle tour of the old city. I was a deprived child (lived in a shoebox etc!) and was never bought a bike. I'm too embarassed to confess that I've reached the ripe old age of ** and can't pedal a bike. I have just 4 weeks to learn. Any suggestions. I had thought of crying Rameses Revenge that day and doing it on foot? Any other bright ideas?

i did this trip a few years ago - and same deprived childhood as you! All was fine - a donkey cart and boy was mine for the day - ar a small charge - and the others appreciated it as well as it carried their wet towels and clothes. Enjoy!

Thanks Jenny. Melissa at the London office has since assured me i can hire a horse and carriage for the day but a boy and a donkey cart sounds even better!! A friend has also offered to give me a lesson or two in bike riding in the local park before i go. Don't know which will be the more embarassing.
