Re: Alexandria Hotel
Hi janusngo,
We are currently using the following hotel on all tours in Alexandria:
Regency Hotel
695 Corniche Street, Alexandria, Egypt
Phone +20 (0) 38 70592
I hope this helps.
Regards,
Brendan
Re: Alexandria Hotel
Just thought I would let you know that I have stayed in the Regency Hotel at Alex in the past. It was just perfect!! The dining room faces the beach with windows that can be opened. The decor was lovely, as were all staff that I met.
The room or should I say suite, I stayed in was luxurious....thats the only words I could use to describe it. This room also faced over the beach & was just wonderful for a weary traveller!!
I would not hesitate to recommend it to other travellers!! Hope this helps..........Debbie
Re: Alexandria Hotel
I agree Debbie...
I'd say the best hotel on the whole tour (Jewels of Egypt)
Re: Alexandria Hotel
Wow thanks Debbie for your review...i hope my stay there will be pleasant.
I just wanted to ask...is the hotel near the major sights (like walking distance?) I just know it's in the corniche...also...have you taken the trams in alexandria?
Re: Alexandria Hotel
No, that's the downside of it. The Hotel is really nice and right on the corniche but it's a long way to the city centre.
As I can remember it's at least 3 km / 2 miles or even more to the centre, where all the sights are.
Re: Alexandria Hotel
thanks onyx...i hope there is a tram nearby...or easy to get to city centre via public transit
Re: Alexandria Hotel
It would be quiet easy to organise a taxi to take you where ever you want to go & is very cheap. So I wouldn't be too concerned.
When I was there in Dec 2003 a huge storm blew in & we didnt get to see much of Alex. I went back to Alex in March this year & had a wonderful couple of days there.
Am hoping to return to Alex in May 2009, as I would just love to see the beach alive with people enjoying the sun!!
Hope you have a wonderful holiday...........Debbie
