I have booked for Egypt & Jordan Caravan leaving 22 Jan 06. I am thinking about flying in a few days before start of tour as I am interested in seeing Alexandria and maybe El Alamein. Do you have any short tours to Alexandria or can recommend one. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Alexandria Tour

Hello Ross,

I believe there is a short side trip to Alexandria in the brochure. If my memory is correct, it's just a couple of days or so.....hope that's right & that I'm not giving you incorrect information!

Hope you have a great holiday, as always I wish I were going too!!.......Debbie.

Re: Alexandria Tour

Debbie thanks for the reply.
The only one I can see in the brochure is the Alexandria & Siwa Oasis which is 8 days, too long. I'm sure there must be shorter tours of a couple of days. Alexandria I think is only about 200KM away.

STOP PRESS
I have just found the Alexandria extension tour (2 days) on the website. Funny it's not in the brochure or am I blind.

Re: Alexandria Tour

Hi Ross,

Alexandria is abotu 2 - 2.5 hours by train from Cairo. Your hotel can organise a ticket quite easily. From memory, the tickets are bout 40-50 Egyptian pounds. Most of the highlights of Alexandria can be seen in 1.5 - 2 days. Any of the travel agencies in Cairo could probabl;y organise a guide for you. Imtrav may be able to assist. In fact, someone will probably have a cousin/uncle/brother who could guide you!!!! (Egyptian joke)

Hope this helps,

R

Re: Alexandria Tour

Ross if you can dive - talk to Alexandra Dive... Imagine diving in Cleopatra Temple or in Marc Antony's Palace!
It is US$90 for a double dive including lunch and drinks and weights and tanks. Gear is a little extra.
