I was wanting to get in touch with others that are doing the Egypt/Jordan caravan from 16/12 - 31/01. I am a female travelling on my own, and I am nervous about being in Cairo etc on my own before tour. Would love to hear from anyone doing this tour!

Please don't get too stressed out about travelling to Cairo. My first overseas trip was to Cairo, on my own. I flew over from Australia. I spent about 5 days in Cairo prior to my tour , most of that time I was alone.
I found that if you dressed in a modest manner, you weren't hassled too much. This means elbows & knees covered & no bare chests ( this includes men).
Mostly if you are approached by someone it is to sell you something. Please remember to pack your sense of humour. I found most Egyptians were very nice people. I walked alone in Cairo both during the day & at night. I actually felt safer there than in Sydney.
If you try to pick up some of the Arabic language the Egyptians seem to appreciate this.
