I am going on the felucca journey on 25th September, is there anyone else who is going?
I have a full day on 25th and would like someone to see the sights with.
Also does anyone know if I have to take a sleeping bag? I have been given 2 different answers? I was hoping a sarong would do to put over me when I am sleeping on board the felucca.
I am a bit concerned about clothing, as I think I have left it too late to get long shorts & tops. Is it possible to buy in Cairo on arrival?

Re: Anyone going on the felucca journey?
Hi!
I've just done the felucca journey, got back yesterday. It was amazing, had a great time. You will need a sleepingbag, as it can actually get quite cold on the felucca, i was actuallly freezing, but my sleepingbag is quite useless. If you have a sleepingbag liner thats always a good idea, if its too hot/cold for sleepingbag. Also, if the tours the same as mine, there's an overnight train from cairo to aswan, so will definitely need one for comfort.
About the clothes, being a young woman, i found everywhere you go you get stared at, no matter what you wear, but long trousers and loose fitting tops with half sleaves are a really good idea. To be honest, i didn't really come across much clothes shops etc until the last day, so unless you know where your going, get them before you go.
I definilty advise doing the diving and snorkelling day at Hurgada, it was one of my highlights. Onboard the felucca was great, even as basic as it was.
Hope this helps, if you have any other queries let me know, I'm happy to help, and laready looking to book my next tour!

Re: Anyone going on the felucca journey?
Hi Holi,
I just wanted to say that was a really useful post - I am about to go this Sunday 19th, and was wondering how hot it would be.
Regarding clothes, if you haven't tried places like TX Maxx and Matalan, you might have some luck - my boyfriend managed to buy some nice lightweight shirts not long ago, and I think they still had some crops - although you might have to dig around in sale rails!
Re: Anyone going on the felucca journey?
Hey
About temperatures, when i went it was average 35 degrees in cairo, but a lot hotter further south in Aswan and Luxor, and even Hurgada. It was in the late 30's, early 40's. So take hat a glassess etc, especially when spending hours in the sun looking at the temples. Just got my photo's developed, they're really good!
Have fun!

Hi Holi,
Thanks for the advice, really useful. I'm just going hunting for more clothes after I write this & I will now be taking my sleeping bag.
