Have arrived back in Australia after a great Jewels of Egypt tour which left Cairo on Sunday, 19 March. Our group consisted of 15 (12 females and 3 males) and it was just great. I was just amazed to see all the monuments you were taught about as a young child - especially the pyramids. I found there was plenty of free time and never felt at a loss to fill in any spare time. I found Egypt to be a very safe country and went for a 5.30am walk alone (I am female)in Alexandria, Luxor and Aswan and felt totally at ease. At first it was a bit offputting seeing armed guards in front of banks and tourist attractions but it also gave me a great sense of security.
The cruise ship "Melodie" is just fabulous and the whole crew is to be congratulated on how they looked after us. And the food is to die for!! I know I put on a kilo or two. The climb up Mt. Sinai is classed as easy by the Lonely Planet guide but you do need a reasonable amount of fitness to make it to the top. However, camels are available to take you almost to the top and well worth the effort. In conclusion, a great holiday and I would certainly travel with Imaginative Traveller again.

Thanks for your post and feedback on your tour. We always appreciate finding out all about your tour, what you liked and enjoyed and what perhaps could be improved. The crew on the Melodie really are amazing aren't they?! Excellent bunch of totally entertaining chaps!

Hey there,

Glad you enjoyed Jewels of Egypt. I did too! I went on the end of feb/start of mar tour. I found the melodie crew great as well. They're all so friendly and when you're on there for a week like the jewels of egypt tour they really get to know you. I tell you I enjoyed having your own welcome crew when you got back on the boat!
