In the trip dossier for the Treasures of the Nile Valley tour it mentions "you may want to consider taking a 'backstreet break' - Imaginative Traveller's city tour with a difference" - can you tell me what all this entails and how much it costs? Thank you
Joanne

Re: Backstreet Break - Cairo
Hi Joanne,
Thanks for your question.
This year for the first time we have included 'Backstreet Breaks' in 3 of our most popular destination cities.
A backstreet break is essentially 2 nights of pre-tour accommodation, an airport transfer, breakfast each morning and your own personal guide throughout the day on the 2nd day.
The beauty of having your own local guide is that you can go wherever you like, both to places that you always wanted to see and to places that you might not have otherwise known about were it not for the knowledge and experience of your guide.

Thanks Brendan, just one more question. Can this be booked at the end of the tour? Thanks
Joanne
Re: Backstreet Break - Cairo
Hi Joanne,
I see no reason why not...
It's not something that I have been asked before and was designed for travellers who are arriving a couple of days early but there's no reason why you can't add it to the end of a tour.

Re: Backstreet Break - Cairo
Can it be booked on a one night basis? (one night + the tour)
It seems like that would be handy to people wanting to book it pre- or post-tour and wanting, as I was thinking of doing to sandwich it in between two tours which begin/end on consecutive days in Cairo.

Re: Backstreet Break - Cairo
Hi Brendan, re your comment "you can go wherever you want -- I just signed up for Cairo backstreet break, and when I got the itinerary its seems to duplicate/shadow the first day of the tour I will be taking (Red Sea and the Nile). Can I really do what I want -- if I have places I would like to see, can I suggest those to the guide for the backstreet break or is the guide on a prescibed plan?
Thanks
