I'm going on the Beyond the Pyramids tour starting on the 3rd of September.

I'd be interested to hear from anyone who is going or has been on the same trip

Re: Beyond the Pyramids September

Hi Sheila

I did the BTP tour in May of this year. It was great. I loved everything about it and wouldn't change a thing except to stay a few extra days in Cairo at the end - what an amazing city. Egypt has a lovely vibrant feel to it. I loved Aswan and would like to return one day to spend more time relaxing there. The aswan market at night was one of the hightlights for me.

Donkey riding in Valley of the Kings was fabulous as was Camel riding in the Sinai (I was not feeling in top shape before the desert trek and arranged through my tour leader to rent my own camel for the three days. Definately worth it. They are much nicer than I expected - they love dates!)

The sites were outstanding, unlike anything I have ever seen - especially Karnak temple, and valley of the kings.

I found it to be a wonderfully varied tour and really had a wonderful time. I'd definately travel with ImTrav again (hopefully next spring!) and would recommend them to anyone. Out tour leader was great, the tour was exceptionally well organized and flexible enough to cater to everyone's needs and the hotels were better than I expected for a budget tour (especially the happy hotel in Aswan).

I hope you have a wonderful time! If you have any specific questions I'll be glad to answer them.

Christine

Re: Beyond the Pyramids September

I am interested in the BTP tour but will not be able to go before the winter session.

Would anyone who has gone on this comment on how much I will miss without the SINAI Trek. I am worried that I will miss out on a major feature and may reconsider and wait until later.

Appreciate any thoughts.

Re: Beyond the Pyramids September

FOR DGP:

Hi,

We offer the summer and winter itineraries for the Beyond The Pyramids. It is true that the three day trek is great fun, a wonderful experience and a big part of the summer itinerary. We amend the winter tour so that the trek remains included, albeit shorter, because of the threat of flooding in the mountains of the Sinai. But if your time of travel only allows you to go during the winter then you still have a great sample of the trek and a visit to Dahab that the summer itinerary does not include. Whatever your decision you will be assured of an amazing travel adventure.

Cheers

Marty
