Re: Bombing in Dahab
Hello DebraJean,
I am also concerned of the welfare of ImTrav staff & tour members. I am hoping no one from Imtrav or one of the tours was involved in this latest act of terrorism To bomb a public place, where people are out enjoying themselves is a low, low act.
My heart goes out to all those who died or were injured. I pray the Egyptian Government finds those involved & deals with them harshly.
Robert, can you put our minds at rest here? There are at least 2 past travellers with Imtrav, who are concerned about the groups & tour leaders.
Hoping everyone is ok, Debbie
Re: Bombing in Dahab
I'm shocked and saddened by this news as well. I was in Egypt this past January and was at Al Capone's with our tour leader Marianne and also met Hatem there also since he was my tour leader on my next tour. How could anybody perpetrate such a heinous act in such a beautiful place like Dahab?
I seriously hope nobody from ImTrav was hurt.

Re: Bombing in Dahab
I had a fantastic honeymoon on sailtrek and sinai last year with some lovely people. Our guide was Sameh Samir and it was his favourite place in all Egypt. Al Capones was our evening hangout and I understand a lot of the victims are Egyptian on spring break. My heart goes out to Dahab and its people as I have such amazing memories of our whole time there. These maniacs are beyond redemption.

Re: Bombing in Dahab
I just arrived back from Cairo yesterday from the Nile and Beyond tour. I was sitting in Al Capones enjoying a thick shake only just over a week ago. I fell in love with Dahab while I was there, and the images I have seen on television have made me weep.
I came onto the forum now because I too would also please like some information if anyone has it on the welfare of the town and also the imag trav guides, and also the wel being of the staff of AlCapones.
Please, please if anyone has any information, please post it.
My heart goes out to all in Dahab,
Re: Bombing in Dahab
Hi again - good news! I just got an email from Juliet (our Jr. tour leader in February) She's in Alexandria - she said that none of the im-trav folks were in Dahab at the time, but she is not sure of the staff of Al Capones... My heart goes out to all those involved. Seeing the photos on the news sites makes it all so real - it is really hard to imagine anyone doing such a thing in such a beautiful place. I keep thinking of the children and the friendly staff.
