Hi,
I am thinking about the Egypt Jordan Caravan.
What sort of footwear should I be thinking about? I really don't want to pay hundreds of $ for boots I may not use again .
Thanks
Richard

Re: Boots
Hi there Richard,
You definitely need to bring a good pair of shoes on this trip as there is quite a lot of walking. In particular a good pair of shoes is important for clibing up Mount Sinai (which has quite a lot of loose scree) and for Petra.
Although most travellers find good walking boots the most comfortable kind of shoe to wear, I wore a good pair of trainers during the winter and high quality sandals in the summer. I guess that the main thing is to bring something that you find comfortable and which you are confident is going to be sufficiently sturdy for scrambling around the rocks in Petra and Mount Sinai.
