If any of you are planning a camel ride, wear thick trousers!. Several of the women on our tour got blisters riding to St. Simeon's monastery and g-strings are to be avoided at all costs!

Re: Camel riding tip
I agree!!
This advice also goes for donkey riding to and from Valley of Kings. This is even worse because at least on a camel you can move around a bit, and even sit side saddle. I would say definitely no thongs, preferably big baggies (or men's! or nothing!!), try to wear 'soft' trousers and not too much gap between bottom of trousers and top of socks, because the coverings on these animals are usually very rough. I hope I'm not getting too intimate but Vaseline is useful.
Anyone else got any more tips? It may seem frivolous now, but after an hour and a half on those donkeys, you really can't concentrate on the scenery!
