I heard that the fees to take cameras and/or camcorders to the tourist sights are really high.

Can someone tell me what really to expect:
how much is it?
how do you pay for it? and in what currency?

Also wondering, I was planning to carry a backpack for this trip. Is that best or will a suitcase be just as easy...if not easier on my back! :-)

Thanks! Sumit.

Re: Camera's in Eygpt

Hi,

You'll be pleased to know that they have actually done away with most of the camera fees for most of the sites and they were all in Egyptian pounds anyway. Who knows why, it's Egypt!!

Whether you need a backpack or a suit case would depend on the trip you take. The ones, we did, Nile Safari and Pharaoh's Tracks, a suitcase would have been fine, apart from when you drag your luggage through pedestrian tunnels at the train stations. Apart from that, no problems and if your luggage has wheels, then it's only the stairs. You really don't have to carry your luggage that far at any time.

Hope that helps.
