Hi,
My boyfriend and I are seriously considering going on the Nile Valley and Red Sea tour around April time.
The tours seem very good value and we like the idea that everything is organised while not being completely rigid.
But we have never travelled on a group holiday before and wondered how much time, if any, we will get to spend on our own.
Do the group spend all evenings and trips all together or would we be able to go off alone for dinner etc.. Would that be considered rude or unfriendly?
Thanks for any advice. I look forward to reading the replies (if I get any!)

Re: couples?
We have just come back from an Imtrav tour (Pharaoh's Tracks). There were three couples in the group of 8 people. As a group we got on really well. We did lots of things as a group but we also did plenty of things separately. No-one was really fazed by that. We'd be happy to travel with all the people on our tour again.
Hope this helps.
Re: couples?
Sheldon,
My husband and I got back from the Nile Valley & Red Sea Tour on Sunday. We were very apprehensive about joining an organised tour, but had no choice as it's a little tricky trying to see Egypt independently. There were another 2 couple on our tour making a total of 6 members in our tour group. We all go on really well and all confessed that we'd all been apprehensive about joining a group. There is a lot of free time built into the itinerary and lots of chances for you to go off and eat dinner alone if you want. But we got on so well that we ended up spending nearly all of our free time and every meal time together.
The Tour starts in Cairo and my husband and I arrived a day before the Tour started so that we could have a little time sight seeing on our own before we joined the group.
It's a fantastic tour that I'm sure you and your boyfriend will love.
We had Meredith as our tour guide who was superb and a credit to Imtrav.
