Does anyone have a suggestion as to whats best to take for spending money on the Middle East Explorer tour- Egypt, Jordan, and Israel. Can you rely on ATM machines and Visa, or do you need Travellers' Cheques? Am I best to use the local currency or should I have $US? If possible I don't want to have to buy $US or pounds sterling (including travellers' cheques) as our New Zealand exchange rate is so poor against those currencies. What do people advise? Thanks

Hi

MONEY
TRAVELLERS CHEQUES & CASH
Generally we recommend that you carry the majority of your funds (around 70%) as travellers cheques for security reasons. The only exception to this is Iran where exchange facilities for Travellers Cheques are very restricted (see Country Dossier in section 4).
Do carry some cash, a small amount is often useful in more remote regions.
If possible, it is often a good idea to obtain a small amount of the currency of the country you are visiting prior to arrival as this can be very useful for any immediate expenses upon arrival. If you can
