Desert & Kasbahs at Christmas time

I've just been on the Nile and Beyond tour with Im Trav over Christmas and had a great time. I'm now thinking of this Christmas with them. I'm looking at the Desert & Kasbahs tour, but the only thing that I'm holding back on is the weather. How cold will it be over there. Is it comparable to Egypt, or will it be a lot colder.
If anyone has been over there at this time (or in Jan/Feb), I would really appreciate some feedback.
