Am now considering E&J Caravan vs. Jewels of Egypt but want to make sure I get some snorkelling time in. It seems there is time for it on JOE, but I can't tell if there is on EJC.
Any comments? Is the snorkelling really great in this neck of the woods??
Thanks!!!

Re: E&JCaravan--snorkelling time???
I just did E&J Caravan, and the only time we had for snorkelling was in Aqaba and it was only for 2 hours and it was quite chilly. And you have to pay extra for that.

I did E&J Caravan a couple years ago...we had time to snorkle one morning in Aqaba. We headed to a resort and payed for a day pass. Unfortunately for us the waves were brutal, so I didn't do much more than go in to my waist...then go swimming in the pool.

I did BTP and the snorkelling was in Dahab. I met up with people who did snokelling in Hurghada and they gave similarly good reports.![[Smile]](smile.gif)

Gin Fizzy--
Can't remember...did you do JOE or E&J Caravan?
I love snorkelling but haven't done a ton of it in my life, so hopefully I'll be amazed! Which reminds me....I should probably check out the Great Barrier Reef at some point
Thanks for the tips!

Re: E&JCaravan--snorkelling time???
We had a free afternoon in Hurghada on Jewels of Egypt tour. A couple of the group members opted to do the snorkelling (but probably wish they hadn't). The weather was choppy and it was really windy out where they went and cold! I don't think it compares at all to Great Barrier Reef, but if you've never been snorkelling and want to give it a try, maybe it could be an option. Just look at the weather carefully though, if there's any hint of wind, don't go.

Snorkelling in Dahab was great for me as a first timer! a couple who had snorkelled in the Great barrier Reef were disappointed but most of us really enjoyed it.
Wet suits and equipment cost about 25 EGyptian pounds, so really cheap too.
