Hello Everyone!,

No one has posted here in weeks now! So how about telling us all about your dream holiday in Egypt??? Have you been or are you in midst of planning to go??

I am not able to travel right now, had hoped to be in the Middle east for my 50th Birthday next month, but unless a miracle happens, well.... it doesn't look good!!

So please, share with your plans, your hopes, your dreams of travel in Egypt. I just love being there, seeing & doing whatever!!

Looking forward to hearing your stories.........Debbie

Hi Debbie - Happy Easter to you. I've got my fingers crossed for your birthday trip.

For me Egypt is very special it was the first place I went to 'proper' travelling and, although all other holidays have been absolutely fantastic, Egypt is just something else.

I would love to go back in a few years when it has all faded a bit and see a few of the things I didn't see like the oasis, Memphis and the red pyramid.

Happy Easter and happy holidays to everyone

Lyn

Ahhh Lyn,

You are making this work for me already!! As I read your post memories came flooding back of my first trip out to Dahshur, back in March '99, have been back many times since, but that first time was truly magic! I have even flown right over the top of them whilst flying in to Cairo airport!! It is amongst my many favourites in Egypt, it is so very quiet & peaceful. There is none of the "rushed" feeling about visiting that site. You can just wander about in your own time

The the only time I have been to Memphis, I did not take as much notice as I should have, my only interest was to photograph the enormous statue of Ramses. I now know much more of Memphis history & would take much more time to explore the site & give it the respect it deserves!

The oasis of Al Fayoum, is also a special place, that all travellers to Egypt should see, at least once. I have been so very lucky to have visited the only waterfall in Egypt, which is located close to Al Fayoum. That was truly beautiful!!

I also dearly wish to return to Meidum, I missed some amazing pics out there, as I thought we would be returning on the road we travelled in on....wrong!

I also "dream" of making that trip out into the Western Desert regions of Egypt, of someday seeing Siwa & Al Alamein.

I have travelled from Alexandria down to Abu Simbel, across to the Sinai....which is a fair bit of Egypt to see, but I still have not seen the above mentioned regions......someday!!! I have seen wonderful pics of the Black & White Deserts & I long to reproduce these pics myself!!! When I began my photgraphy course our teacher told us....you can go anywhere with this, travel the world & not pay a cent!! Companies will pay you to take pics......well, I'm still waiting for that chance!! looooool!! Oh well that's life!!

Many thanks for joining in on this thread!! Hope you have enjoyed your Easter break. I had to work!

Kindest regards..........Debbie
